Nuno Horta is a visual artist based on photography, with a career spanning over more than 25 years dedicated to exploring identity, the human condition, and the psychological dimension of the image. His work develops from the human figure — especially the face — understood as a symbolic territory where memory, desire, tension, and transcendence intersect.
Between an initial, more classical approach to photography and a second phase marked by digital experimentation, Nuno Horta constructs autonomous visual universes with a strong symbolic and atmospheric charge, often described as dreamlike, enigmatic, and introspective. His series explore themes such as masks, metamorphosis, the double, spirituality, and the relationship between the visible and the invisible, affirming photography not only as a record but as a conceptual and philosophical language.
